My theme for my artwork comes from incidental moments that I try to incorporate into my artwork.

Typography
My first artwork was inspired by David Carson and the use of typography. The best thing that I like about this piece is the color scheme. Since purple is my second favorite color and also the color of my birth stone, decided to use it along with black and gray. I used the dabbing technique to create the texture of the art piece. What I learned during the process of making this piece, was to have my idea ready before hand , and also know exactly what you want to put on the paper.

I love the flower! It adds a lot of interest to the piece.
ReplyDeleteI agree with alex, I love the font and color scheme. Simple, elegant. Yet I feel set off by the stamp only being on corner, maybe create some balance by putting another print on the bottom corner ?
ReplyDeleteI love the dabbing technique that you used. Do the words and color scheme have a connection with each other since purple is a symbol for royalty? And I agree with Sarah on this one. It feels like you should have another stamp in that corner to fill in the somewhat empty space.
ReplyDeleteGood discussion.
ReplyDeleteI like the flower idea, and that you did an image transfer instead of paint. However, I do think you need to have a greater focus on your subject matter.
